To The “Family” Of Conservative TruthBy Paul Hayden July 24, 2023Dear Readers, Friends, and Family of Conservative Truth, As I have recently acquired this website and “family,” I want to be in touch with you all. Thank you all for your participation in this website, and your interest in the topics we deal with. Importantly, this website has been primarily aimed at U.S. readers - “American” – signified by the U.S. flag on the header, and many of the founding documents in our archives. We also have a heart for those around the world who share in the search for the truth, and who share in the values that have held the highest value in civilizations and cultures around the world throughout history. The Christian heritage that has been so foundational in U.S. history and development is our home base, our centering point of reference. The United States became the prime example of what can come of these shared values, the strength of freedom, and the treasure of a united government “of, by, and for the people.” Why else would so many wish to come to America? But these values are being eroded, stolen, squashed, and destroyed. Tom Barrett developed and published this site over twenty years ago, having a deep reverence for life and everything related to it. He was a devoted family man, he was involved in Christian ministry, he was a Marine, and he had served in law enforcement. He loved people. And he loved his homeland – the United States of America. He was a Patriot in the full meaning of the word. We had become close friends, though I never got to meet him in the five years we worked together. We conversed often relating to our link with Conservative Truth, but also about many things about life, faith, and God. I would like to invite each of you to be a part of this effort called Conservative Truth. From the time I became the Editor until now, I have had stirrings in me of the riches of what those words contain – Conservative and Truth. Truth. Conservative. What do they mean to you? How has this site helped you over the years? What did you appreciate about Tom’s writings (still available in the archives!) and the other authors? I would like any of you readers to share in this experience as well. We are all in this together. We can be one another’s eyes and ears, looking out for each other. Questions? Comments? Suggestions?  Paul Hayden is a Christian believer, and an American patriot, necessarily in that order. He is a student of the Bible, and is avidly interested in our role in the context of history, as understood through the heart and eyes of faith. Paul has lived and traveled somewhat widely, and now lives in the heartland of the U.S. (central Illinois), with his wife Donna - they have five grown children. Since December of 2016, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of www.ConservativeTruth.org."I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom Bonnalee Hunt Hayden married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
