The Best Father's Day Card Ever

And it Sang to Me!

In my family, we have always had a tradition of giving two greeting cards on special occasions. One was serious (read mushy or sappy). And one was humorous. Today my daughter Sarah gave me the best Father's Day card I have ever received - perhaps the best Father's day card ever made!

The front read, "This card does more than just wish you a happy Father's Day." OK, that was intriguing, but it didn't begin to prepare me for what was to come.

When I opened it, the sentiment was completed: "It sings your Praises! (And you totally deserve it.)" When it was completely open a choir of tiny animals in choir robes popped up and started singing the Hallelujah Chorus - my favorite song in the world. Only the words were wrong.

Instead of hearing, "Hallelujah! For the Lord God Omnipotent Reigns!" I heard the music with these lyrics:

Dad, you're awesome!
So amazing!
You're the hero
Of the family!
You're cool and that's no lie!
Dad, you're epic!
So incredible!
You're terrific!
You're fantastic!
You're one outstanding guy!

When she signed it, she noted, "I knew you would love this the second you heard it." She was totally correct. It surprised me. It was funny. It was great music. And it showed me that she loved me.
