A Dark and Stormy Night - Random Thoughts from 2015 America

October 12, 2015

In a statement put out by Umpqua Community College, the school feared that having armed security guards on campus “might change the culture.” Perhaps now these liberals will understand that allowing students to be murdered has changed the culture of their once-sleepy little college. Then again, surely there will be liberals at the school who still will believe that the presence of guns is worse than the tragedy that they allowed to happen.

Liberals tried to claim that Oregon colleges really are not gun free (self-defense free) zones. That is partially true, which is why they stopped at the part that they thought made their case. A 2010 federal court decision did reach such a conclusion, that colleges in several states could not be “gun free,” but in 2012, the Oregon State Board of Higher Education created a loophole, which Umpqua Community College used to its anti-Constitutional advantage. The result was that at UCC, with written permission, students could legally carry guns onto the campus, but not legally carry into buildings. Some did break the rules, but they were operating in defiance of campus rules where, incidentally, they did not face criminal prosecution, rather punishment from the school. In other words, a student could feel free to bring the gun to “school,” but not to “class.” That was the difference. The end result was that another group of people, exposed to a bad guy with a gun, lost their lives. This time, the bad guy was a Christian-hating monster.

A “gun free zone” sign is simply an invitation to the morally deficient and mentally ill that infamy awaits.

We’re not supposed to lump in all Muslims with the Muslims who rape, torture, plunder, and kill, but it is worth noting that there is not a lot of denunciation by high ranking American Muslims about the actions and Qur’anic interpretations of their less tolerant brethren. There never is. The occasional brief denunciation seems to be just enough to allow them to say that they have issued condemnation. Juxtapose that with the times when the Kooksboro “Baptists” protest a funeral. It becomes difficult to find a Christian, in leadership or not, who won’t denounce the group.

Snoopy always started that Great American Novel he was going to write with the line, “It was a dark and stormy night.” That seems to be an apt description of America these days. Economically and morally, things are stormy, at best, and we are enduring a long night.

I’m really going to miss John Boehner as Speaker of the House... Okay. I’m done missing him now.

I have noticed that one of the differences between Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump is that Carson says what he thinks, respectfully, humbly, and maturely. Trump says what he thinks, childishly and viciously.

For many years, conservatives voted for moderates because we were supposed to, but moderates would bail out on conservative candidates. Now that many conservatives are tired of moderate and Establishment Republicans, apparently there is a moral imperative that conservatives pledge allegiance to the Party.

How is it that the Democrat Party’s leader in the New Hampshire presidential polls is not even a Democrat? The “I” after Bernie Sanders’ name does not stand for “Democrat.” Speaking of Sanders, what’s the difference between Sanders’ “democratic socialism” and Marxist-Leninist socialism? Nuance. In time, those who know what is best for us must take over and control us. There are some who are more equal than others.

The religious persecution of Aaron and Melissa Klein continues in the liberal wonderland of Oregon. With the presidential race going on, Hillary acting angry that everyone knows what she did at the State Department, and Bruce Jenner getting the saw treatment, it’s easy to forget that the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries ordered the Kleins to pay damages to a lesbian couple. A judge later set the amount at $135,000 for turning away the two lesbian potential customers because the Kleins did not want involvement in their “wedding.”

As a refresher, some of the symptoms the lesbians claimed resulted from the Kleins’ exercise of religious liberty included “mental rape,” “acute loss of confidence,” “excessive sleep,” “loss of appetite,” “impaired digestion,” “weight gain,” and a host of other shocking by-products of being politely told that another baker could easily be found. Apparently, for same-sex “weddings,” if the baker is not found on the first try, everything is just ruined- ruined!

Except for the mental rape- I don’t know what that is- that’s pretty much how I felt during each season of 24 when Jack Bauer was still on the air. He always got into stressful situations.

Can someone please check to see whether the current president of the United States owns stocks in any of the companies which manufacture guns? Each time he speaks his mind on guns, sales go through the roof.
