God Sees The HeartBy Paul Hayden October 5, 2026With all the talk about “artificial intelligence,” maybe we need a return to real intelligence. It's interesting that President Trump seeks to dub it as “Super Intelligence,” as he embraces its strengths while being aware of its problems and weaknesses. Israel was looking for a king to lead them, because they were too hard-headed to simply follow God and His commandments (the wise thing to do!). This was around some 3,000 years ago. Samuel the prophet was trying diligently to help lead the people with directives from God. A very succinct truth was revealed during the exchange. 1 Samuel 16.7 We would do well to take this profound truth to heart, as we live in this time of so much information and confusion. Artificial intelligence is but a mechanical representation of what God has given us in our human capacities, the ability to figure stuff out based on what we already know. It can do it so much faster, and purportedly without the human foibles and quirks to interfere with it. But you can't get out of the machine anything someone hasn't put into it, no matter how “perfect” they are or how well they have programmed it. So, we're back to the human input. And God speaks to that limitation quite well. GOD DOES NOT SEE AS A MAN SEES, FOR MAN LOOKS AT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART. Maybe “they” should try to see more like God sees, rather than trying to be God while denying Him! That is a lesson as old as history!

Paul Hayden is a Christian believer, and an American patriot, necessarily in that order. He is a student of the Bible, and is avidly interested in our role in the context of history, as understood through the heart and eyes of faith. Paul has lived and traveled somewhat widely, and now lives in the heartland of the U.S. (central Illinois), with his wife Donna - they have five grown children. Since December of 2016, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of www.ConservativeTruth.org."I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom Bonnalee Hunt Hayden married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
