The Trump Administration’s War Against Transgenderism

Since the inception of the Trump administration, with Republican majorities in Congress, the president has issued executive orders that require the discontinuation of the transgender ideology policies. This would include all manner of puberty blockers, and any surgical procedures performed on minor children without parental consent. States that protect the right of entities that continue to offer this heinous desecration of the young risk losing federal funds. This issue has been at the forefront in the ongoing battle in the culture war.

The transgender craze that has swept the nation over the past twenty years has reached what many consider its zenith. The Biden administration, the Democratic Party, the progressive Left, and most of the mainstream media embraced the procedures. But a turning point occurred in 2021 in Loudoun County, Virginia. At a school board meeting, the parents of students expressed their outrage at a policy that had been enacted allowing transgender females (biological males) the use of girls' restrooms and lockers.

The debate was heated, and law enforcement had to step in to control what was becoming an unruly and dangerous situation. Parents became incensed at the insensitivity and indifference of the school board. Since then, and with President Trump’s executive orders, there has been a consequential reduction and scaling back of transgender activities. This includes drag queen story hour and books in school libraries that detail information that does not conform to standards applicable to minor children, and illustrations that are sexually explicit.

With this national movement to undermine and devalue transgenderism, and see it for the money-making enterprise that it is, gives new hope to the effort to bring it to an end. This is especially true for the many young people who now seek to de-transition back to their birth gender, but who have gone through what has been proven to be harmful and life-changing, both physically and psychologically. Infertility, among other ailments, is what most will suffer for the remainder of their lives. 

Even in this current climate to curb, if not bring to an end, the radical threat that transgender activities pose to the young, there are still those who refuse to acquiesce and comply with the president and a majority of the American people. There is a troubling effort afoot, with abuses of the safety and health of minor children and parental rights, committed in the public school system by teachers, counselors, and administrators. Each are in the courts, and parents have filed lawsuits. 

Consider these active legal cases:

• Leon County, Florida. A family is suing a school for facilitating their daughter’s gender transition. Officials met secretly with the girl to develop a “gender support plan,” without the parents' consent. Her mother eventually discovered the deception, but was shocked to learn that school staff had systematically excluded her from major decisions about her child’s identity and well-being.
• Ludlow, Massachusetts. The school district encouraged and supported the student’s gender transition. Emails uncovered revealed school officials advised students on how to sexually transition, and change names and pronouns. Officials specifically instructed staff not to inform parents. One particular parent was misled when she contacted the school for clarification and the full extent of the school’s actions.
• Spreckels Union School District, California. In this case, the school supported the female student’s social transition to male identity. The school instructed the girl not to tell her mother, but when the school’s action was revealed, the mother sued and won the case. Her daughter, after the damage was done, de-transitioned back and now identifies as female.
• Delaware Valley Regional High School, New Jersey. The father of a student is suing the school district for interfering with his parental rights. School officials allegedly supported his child’s transition and withheld critical information from him. Once again, the rationale behind this concealment was the assumption that school staff knew better than the child’s own parent.

In a June landmark ruling, the Supreme Court upheld a state ban on gender-affirming care. Recently, the Department of Justice launched an investigation into more than 20 doctors and gender clinics for minors. The nation’s largest youth gender clinic, the Trans-youth Health and Development at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles closed on Tuesday, July 29 (2025).
