A Presidential Address, Memorable Night, Democrats In Disarray

March 17, 2025

On Tuesday, March 04 (2025), President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress. He detailed his agenda and accomplishments thus far. The reaction was highly favorable, a majority of the American people, political commentators, and the media, gave the president a resounding well done. There were of course the naysayers and malcontents whose opinions were based solely on their animus toward the president. Mr. Trump’s performance was in fact a tour de force, and possibly one of the finest presidential speeches in recent memory.

The president was in full command of the facts and those assembled. He was funny, empathetic, and knowledgeable of the policies and agenda his administration has enacted thus far. He discussed tariffs, the economy, inflation, domestic crime, the Ukraine-Russia war and peace talks, the Middle East hostages, illegal immigration and the southern border, religious freedom, and cultural issues. At the night’s outset, he extended an olive branch to Democrats suggesting they work together to make America great again. He spoke of the Golden Age of America to come, but there was no response from Democrats.

The president spoke of his disfavor and executive actions taken against biological males in girl’s sports, Critical Race Theory, the transgender movement, and Diversity-Equity-Inclusion. One did not have to debate the fact that the basis and foundation of the address was the Judeo-Christian ethic and traditional values. The president unequivocally revealed to the nation what side he favored in the culture war.

There were also the human interest stories, guests invited by the president and First Lady. There was the young mother whose police officer husband was shot and killed by a career criminal; the young 13-year-old boy who suffered from brain cancer and wants to be a police officer; the mother with her two daughters whose youngest daughter was sexually abused and murdered by illegal migrants. There was the high school student whose desire was to get into West Point, which can only be realized through the referral of a member of Congress in the candidate’s district.

The president surprised the young man with an official referral into the academy as soon as he finishes high school. In the case of the 13-year-old boy; the president made him an honorary Secret Service agent. Little DJ Daniel was presented by Sean Curran, the Director of the agency, with an official ID. The boy was so happy, he leaped into the arms of the Director; it was a moving moment. Sadly, not so for Democrats, not one responded.

The night however was not without its objectionable and embarrassing moments. The discontent and anger, the immature and disgraceful behavior of a political party in disarray finally reached its apex, as the thread that holds together a unified body came unraveled before the nation and the world. It all began with the disrespectful and disruptive behavior of Texas Congressman Al Green, who stood up and began waving his cane while denouncing the president. Speaker Johnson banged the gavel and called on the Capitol police to remove Green from the chamber, which they did.

Democrats sat stone-faced and remained seated on their hands in what seemed a catatonic state for most of the night. Many of them held up paddles with critical messages on them directed at the president. But their inane and shameful antics did not end there. They proved something else, their callousness and how they have become desperate and detached from reality; a political party in the throes of collapse.

They did not even have the decency to stand and acknowledge and display a modicum of compassion, respect and empathy, by showing their support for the family members who were suffering the loss of their loved ones. Mothers who lost their daughters to violence, their immense loss, lives shattered, yet nothing from Democrats. In the days following the address, there have been thousands, perhaps millions, of words written and spoken.

Someone once said, “Hate corrodes the vessel it resides in.” There have been numerous discussions and debates in response to that night, but there was something else. Interwoven throughout the discussions by those on all sides of the political and ideological spectrum was one sentiment that kept rearing its ugly head over and over, more so now than in the past - the Democrats and their enablers' hatred for President Trump. Hate was often spoken about, as the underlying reason for the Democrats, and other entities, approach to President Trump.

In the end, did the Democrats' antics overshadow the president’s words? No, not at all; he rose above their feeble efforts to distract from his inspiring message. And it showed the nation that as a political party, it cannot be trusted, is leaderless, and has no respect for the values and principles of the American people.
