Do You Have Peace?By Paul Hayden February 3, 2025Wow - the rhetoric and dialogue right now! Am I right? Donald Trump got BACK into office! It's the end of the world! It's the salvation of the world! Well, dear friends, it's probably neither of those things, at least not immediately. The living God has been around a long, long time. He has weathered much, especially from the surprisingly fickle part of His creation whom He made in His own image (Genesis 1:26-28), whatever that might mean. You can delve into that through your own Bible study and imagining. Those who don't believe in God think we came about by accident, some conglomeration of random materials worked on by some spontaneous electrical pulse mixed with heat in just the right extent, and then all of life developed from that…yeah, right. I think I will stick with what many call the Christian Biblical "fairy tale" that God created us, and everything else, from nothing, sort of just like it says in the Bible. Back to our lives here and now, facing the terrors of our day. Trump is in office. He is going to solve or destroy everything, depending on your viewpoint. But how is the peace in your life? Do you know deep in your heart that God loves you? Are you able to wake up each day, thankful for life and all that it brings? It's often not easy, but it's not always hard, either. Just look around yourself. Find ways to make life better, and look for things for which you can be thankful. I am enjoying taking opportunities to make life simpler, which in turn makes life more pleasant and pleasurable. There is a Bible verse - “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46.10) Here is all of Psalm 46 for you to read. (from the New American Standard Bible) 1 God is our refuge and strength, [Note: Or `Abundantly available for help`] a very present help in trouble. There is much mystery in life, from how life came about, to how it will end, and how to “do life” in between. Have some fun exploring what life really is, and be kind to others and to yourself in the meantime. God bless you - have a great week! Paul Hayden

![]() "I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom Bonnalee Hunt Hayden married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
