Happy New Year!By Paul Hayden January 6, 2025Happy New Year! Yes, okay, I get into it some. I am usually expectant to see what the “new year” will bring. Along with having some general expectations and hopes, I sometimes make some loose predictions or set some personal goals. Being a “half-full” sort of person, I eagerly anticipate what each new year and every new endeavor brings into my life. It's interesting to see how others handle this whole new year process. Each of us has to work it out for ourselves, as with everything else in our lives. Having more years behind me helps in some ways to bring perspective. What we got so worried about at various times - didn't really come crashing down on us. And some things we absolutely said we would do, didn't really get done, and also didn't end our life. As these years march on, one thing that really hurts is losing a friend, someone you love, a parent or family member, a child or a mate. We can have memories, but never get to see them again once they are gone. In light of this possibility of loss, one thing I am thinking of this year is to reach out to old friends more than ever. Give them a call, go see them if possible. Maybe even WRITE some letters. Does anyone ever do that anymore?? Get out a pen and some nice paper and write a letter, put it in an envelope with a stamp (now in 2025, a stamp for a 1-oz letter is $ .73 - !!! - and a postcard is $ .56 !!!). In some ways something like that could be worth framing! Whatever you choose to do as we start this new year, may God bless you with a refreshed and uplifting awareness of His love for you. I am thoroughly convinced and believe that God loves each one of us more than we can ever fully know. It is my faith that there is NOTHING that you can do that will make God love you any less than He loves you, nor any more than He already loves you. His love is boundless and continual, for God is love. Happy New Year - and blessings! Paul Hayden

Paul Hayden is a Christian believer, and an American patriot, necessarily in that order. He is a student of the Bible, and is avidly interested in our role in the context of history, as understood through the heart and eyes of faith. Paul has lived and traveled somewhat widely, and now lives in the heartland of the U.S. (central Illinois), with his wife Donna - they have five grown children. Since December of 2016, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of www.ConservativeTruth.org. "I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom Bonnalee Hunt Hayden married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
