The Southern Border, Illegal Immigration, And The Dangerous Repercussions

How much confidence do you have in government, local, state, and federal? Do you expect elected officials to be honest and trustworthy in keeping their promises and obligations, and carrying out their sworn duties? This is especially necessary when it involves matters of national security, and the safety and lives of the people.

We rely on the freedom of the press and the media, in all their manifestations, to keep the government and its agencies honest and answerable to the people. But what happens when both of these entities, government and media, fail to respond and suppress information vital to our well-being and way of life. It appears that in postmodern America there are no assurances.

In a recent report in the Potomac Local News, the Quantico Marine Force Base, in Quantico, Virginia was breached. What makes this so disturbing is that the Biden administration and very few in the media have reported on this threat. As of this writing, I have not heard a word from any agency in the government, nor most news outlets including network and cable news and the print media.

On May 3 (2024) in the early morning hours, a box truck pulled up to the security post at the Marine Force Base, in Quantico, Virginia. The two men in the truck were Jordanian nationals, who attempted to gain entry into the complex by fabricating their true identity. They explained to the military police - MP’s - at the security checkpoint they were Amazon delivery men.

The MP’s suspected the validity of the reason given, and directed the driver to a secondary security checkpoint for further inspection. At that point, the driver hit the gas advancing through the gate, but the MPs reacted swiftly and set up road barriers and stopped the truck. The two were cited for trespassing on federal property, and then were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Potomac Local News finds it perplexing and disturbing that this incident has not received national attention, as most of the reporting has been local. An anonymous source told the newspaper that one of the men in the truck was a Jordanian foreign national who recently entered the country through the southern border. One of the two, who was not identified, is on the FBI terror watch list.

Recently the story was picked up by the New York Post, which should hopefully incentivize other outlets to report on it nationwide. Captain Michael Curtis, spokesman for the base, explained “Due to the swift response and execution of their duties, the officers involved were able to deploy the vehicle-denier barriers, prevent any access to Marine Corps Base Quantico and detain the individuals.”

There is speculation by those who have thus far been apprised of the incident. Navy Seal Robert O’Neill commented that this could have been a “dry run for al Qaeda or ISIS to see how far they could get a truck into the base. It looks like it was a test run for something else like truck bombs because they tried to get in saying they were delivery drivers, and then sped up. The Jordanians were lucky they weren’t shot.” What makes this serious matter even more suspect is that base personnel, including military, did not find out about the incident until two weeks later. 

This is not an isolated incident, as there have been others. On March 17 at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado California, a driver did not slow down when approaching the main gate. The vehicle went through the gate and was fired upon by the base guards, the driver was not injured and eventually stopped moving. About two weeks later, a Chinese national attempted to enter the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms California, but was stopped.

What could possibly be the reason for this obstruction of the facts and an informed public? Were military officials told to hold these incidents under wraps, to avoid any repercussions the Biden administration may have to deal with because the perpetrators involved were illegal immigrants? The dangers we are now facing because of the open southern border, are more intensified now than ever before.
