America’s Absurdities, Half Truths and Loopy Legal Lemons
June 2, 2014
It seems that all a writer must do is remember to quote the source, finding the latest absurdity or unbelievable news story is as easy as turning on the TV, the radio or the internet.
Someone recently said that “moving culturally forward means we are moving morally backward.” This is perhaps the most blaring absurdity of the day - because those who demand cultural progress insist that those who won’t move into today’s torrent of sleaze are “on the wrong side of history.”
Since now, you may lawfully walk around in the nude in San Francisco, see fully grown men prancing in pink tutus in a gay pride parade in several American cities and watch a woman abort a splendidly healthy baby on an internet video, who would dare argue that the decline is now a hopeless high-speed freefall from the best generation and the American dream all rolled into one?
It is abundantly clear that we have misunderstood and misappropriated our once guarded freedoms and allowed them to become license. We have proven that perversion is a systemic problem on a national scale. Little wonder the rest of the world mocks when they hear us speak of our freedoms and the dreadfully high price we have paid to acquire them.
We need to slow down and step back from this dark forest to see the trees, but momentum is also a trend. Fast is as culturally important today as foundations once used to be. If its “change” it must be good!
Far from being just another list or a maudlin, mind boggling compendium of the moral morass that plagues our nation; these are road signs, markers and warnings – we can only ignore them at our own peril.
Quotes Heard Around the World – verbiage that violates veracity and conscience...
Hillary Clinton on the Benghazi slaughter of Americans, “What difference does it make?” Now that she actually thinks she should run for president (or does she?) we must ask ourselves, ‘what difference will that make?’ A fearful omen indeed!
Hillary may want to take the time between now and the election to write a new book, perhaps a follow up to her 1996 release. How about – “It Takes a Village to Wreck what is left of a Battered and Failing Nation.” Anybody see this?
If you are like me, you probably know people who have promised to leave the country forever if she runs and is successful at becoming the next president of the United States.
A Legacy of Loopy Legal Lemons – lawlessness disguised as law?
Liberals are fleeing the great Godzilla monster they call ‘climate change’ formerly known as global warming and while they haven’t yet proposed putting giant windmills atop our cars to eliminate internal combustion engines; they have a bevy of new barristers appointed as lawmen and judges.
The greatest faux lawman of all time, AG Eric Holder is an example of fake law enforcement that changes everything. Deciding what to prosecute or investigate under Holder is like the new Mayberry RFD, but it is far from being funny. Liberal judicial appointments under Barack Obama have also followed the trend toward fake law. The rule of law is now a perfect parallel to the mating habits of fireflies.
The firefly of the genus photuris flashes beautiful radiant soft green bursts of light to attract the male of another completely different species of firefly. When the dinner guest arrives for his date, he quickly learns that he is on the menu and is quickly eaten alive. Issues sent to law enforcement or the courts today for remediation often get eaten alive instead of being justly investigated, mitigated or decided.
One example is, U.S. District Court Justice John Edward Jones III who squashed Pennsylvania’s ban on homosexual “marriage’ and is quoted for saying, “It was time to toss such laws into the ash heap of history.” Six thousand years of human history and every warning of the Bible, common sense and basic decency to the contrary, Judge Jones has not noticed that, in fact, it is civilization which is being cast onto the ash heap history.
Handy interpolations on what the Constitution doesn’t say - ignorance or refusal to believe what the bible does say - clearly leads to judicial rulings that leave the country stunned by what liberal judges are saying. Will the nation survive long enough to finally throw this kind of decision making onto the ash heap of reckless jurisprudence and spurious rulings?
Has the law become probabilistic? Are morality and the law mutually exclusive? Any law derived strictly from emerging trends - is in itself the trend toward life without principle. “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Ps 11: 3)
Mary Jane’s Children off on a Trip – But Never Leave the State of Colorado?
The next great legal lemon, throws not only jurisprudence onto the ash heap, but the very lives and futures of an entire generation of young people in the State of Colorado. The measure to amend Colorado’s constitution resulted in the free usage of marijuana for anyone over 21.
Being cool has edged out of ersatz, now, the endless cycle of toting, spacing out, desperately seeking munchies and long naps will be the real time fate of thousands. The motivational smashing effects of pot have done more for ‘cool’ than Billy Clinton’s sax honking and Barack Obama’s dance with Ellen DeGeneres.
The trouble with cool is that it has no clear definition. It is everything from the zing of the zeitgeist to the raunch of the rapper. It is the idea of being above disturbance, remaining detached in a décor of suave that rides the waves of contemporary fashion and bling. In a word, being cool means you are – “aloof.”
Unlike exceptionalism, which requires hard work and application to rise above the rest - the cool, simply float above the crowd. It is a state of being, now made a reality, by a perfectly legal central nervous system drug, available to all in the fantasy land of John Denver’s ‘Rocky Mountain High.’
Lighter than air with no need to land anywhere, is the cool we have established by law to be a dandy place for Coloradan youth to - live and let live. We have enabled a generation to be counted among the useless - lightness and vanity are now allowed, and cool is vindicated.
In ancient days the ‘cool’ were considered to be “light persons” – not a very flattering term. The coolest of the cool in the Old Testament were among those the rulers sought to do their devious bidding. They were hired to do yet more cool things - like murdering the innocent.
“And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him. And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal…” (Jud 9: 4 – 5a)
Can’t happen today? It would be a milestone to find one pot smoker among a million who does not think abortions are perfectly OK. Let’s get serious; for the leftist, liberal or reprobate mind - using the law to free up marijuana is the equivalent of imbibing on mental moonshine.
Whether it’s a liberal lawmaker who is hidden down in the creeks and hollers of a reprobate mind drinking their mental moonshine or a young Coloradan sitting on the mountain top toting the weed, one thing has become crystal clear.
If two wrongs don’t make a right – obviously two kinds of highs won’t make it right either.
What’s the Answer? – No new answer allowed until you have heeded the old one!
Since Barack Obama became president more articles have been written about or appendaged with the Bible verse taken from II Chronicles 7: 14, than at any other time in our history. Rather than being the droning of dullards it is the clarion call of the cognizant and contemplative set who have long prayed over and sought a solution to our nation’s speedy plunge into immorality and confusion. Let’s look again: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Ch 7: 14)
This call to repentance is given not to all, but the phrase “my people, which are called by my name” is a key component to passage. No one becomes a strawberry by hanging out in the strawberry patch and no one becomes a Christian just because they are born in America. It is clear that this passage is addressing those who already believe in God.
While some are waiting for a new more conservative Senate, others for better economic times and more jobs we must ask the all-important question – what is God waiting for? He is clearly waiting for his own to turn back with full repentance and submission to his word and his will. He will not accept a new commitment, but will only accept complete surrender.
According to Pew 78.4 percent of Americans are Christians in either the Catholic or Protestant faiths. That’s a lot of people and that’s a lot of repentance. It is also a lot of political clout and strength to pull the nation back up from its decline. It is enough people that the question of whether we can change direction is moot. The only real question is – will we do it?
This writer has produced many warnings through thousands of articles and special pieces, but the nature of warning has changed. Now the message must include this also – ‘hurry up.’ If you are eschatologically challenged, you can still see that this nation has already hit rock bottom in some areas, time is short.
