The Government Against Donald Trump

April 8, 2024

The past three years have taken us down a road with many obstacles and pitfalls. In the midst of all the turmoil, we have also been witness to an unprecedented attack on jurisprudence. This has been manifested in the Biden administration's weaponization of the Justice Department in its ongoing political persecution and prosecution of former President Donald Trump, who has called it a “Witch Hunt.”

Thus far there have been four criminal indictments, in four states, totaling 91 felony counts. Polls reveal that most of the American people - including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents - and legal experts believe this is all a political gambit by the Biden administration. Its intent is to interfere in the November presidential election by having the former president enmeshed in legal expenses, and time consumed with court appearances. There’s a new term for this nefarious agenda - “Lawfare.”

Most of the American people by now have an informed opinion of the facts and the entities involved in the Trump trials. There are some, however, who have tuned it all out, and are frustrated and angry, and are more concerned with the economy and illegal immigration. Those who are still engaged, but have questions about who, what, and where, the names of the players, etc., here’s a brief summary.

CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS: Like most outgoing presidents, Trump removed boxes of documents that represented his time in office. Some of these were classified, and the National Archives believed they should be surrendered and housed in the Archives. The former president, according to reports, was not cooperating. In June of 2022, at the behest of the Archives, the Justice Department and FBI staged a raid on Trump's Florida Mar-A-Lago estate. Based on the findings, Trump was indicted for mishandling classified documents. The former president pleaded not guilty.

Special Counsel Jack Smith is the lead investigator in two federal probes, which have resulted in 40 federal charges for withholding the documents and scheming to conceal them from any outside parties. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has set a court date of May 20, 2024, but for several reasons, she recently decided that the date might be pushed back.

ELECTION INTERFERENCE: Much has been reported over the past three years regarding former President Trump’s insistence that the 2020 presidential election “was stolen.” In his effort to overturn the results, Mr. Trump took measures to rectify the situation. In the four-count indictment, the former president is accused of conspiracy to defraud the government, disrupt a congressional proceeding, and deny the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

Once again Special Counsel Jack Smith is the lead investigator. Charges also include the former president and a number of co-conspirators, lying to his supporters with attempts to sway or persuade state officials and then-Vice President Mike Pence, to overturn the results of the election. This action eventually led to the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol in Washington, DC by Trump supporters. Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty on all counts.

A March 4 trial date was scheduled, but has since been canceled, awaiting an appeal by Mr. Trump to the Supreme Court. It is his contention that a former president cannot be held accountable and is immune from prosecution for official actions taken while in office.

HUSH MONEY: The New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg indicted the former president on state charges. These involved hush money payments made for an extramarital affair; this case was introduced during the 2016 presidential campaign. The recipient of this largesse is a former porn star Stormy Daniels, who alleges that she had relations with Mr. Trump in 2006. The 34-count indictment includes accusations of falsifying business records to hide the affair. Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty. A trial was scheduled to begin on March 25.

GEORGIA ELECTION RESULTS: This indictment was initiated in August of 2023. It named former President Trump and eighteen other co-defendants of violating the State of Georgia’s anti-racketeering law. The charges accuse Trump and his allies of approaching the Republican Secretary of State, and asking that he make an effort to find enough votes - about 11000 - to overturn the results and claim victory in the battleground state. The charges also include the allegation that Trump and his allies harassed election workers, claiming they engaged in fraud. Trump has pleaded not guilty.

There has been no trial date set, and this has now been delayed further due to the recent revelation of the Fulton County Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis’ affair with Nathan Wade, the prosecutor she assigned to try the case. Trump demanded Willis be removed from the case; a judge decreed there is an appearance of a conflict of interest, but gave Willis a choice that she either remove herself or Wade. She chose to remove Wade. Trump went to the Appeals court and asked that they review the judge’s ruling.

NEW YORK CIVIL CASES

1. Real Estate - New York Attorney General Letitia James has brought charges against the former president for committing fraud in the monetary evaluation of his properties and engaging in attempts to deceive banks and financial institutions. This involved inflating the worth of his properties, as collateral, for greater loan payouts, and deflating the worth for tax purposes. Those in the building and real estate business expressed how this is done throughout the industry.

The banks and financial institutions had their own associates check the property values, as is customary. They also testified that they were paid back on time, with interest, and made a profit. They would also, without hesitation, do business with the Trump organization in the future. The presiding Judge Arthur Engaron imposed a penalty of $454 million, and Trump would lose control of his properties. The $454 million was recently lowered by an appeals court to $175 million, which Trump recently posted a bond.

The most outrageous aspect of the case however, and proof positive of political chicanery, is that AG James when running for the office of Attorney General in 2018 campaigned on going after Trump, while claiming he was an illegitimate president. Judge Engaron in his rulings has shown unapologetically and unabashedly on a number of occasions that he, too, is biased against the former president.

2. Defamation - This case involves allegations by E. Jean Carroll, an advice columnist, who claims that Trump sexually assaulted her in the dressing room of Sachs Fifth Avenue over 30 years ago. The original charge was rape, but the jury verdict dismissed the charge and found Trump guilty of sexual assault and awarded Carroll $5 million. Afterwards, Trump labeled Carroll a liar on social media, and she filed another suit for defamation, and was awarded $83 million. Carroll has proven herself to be unstable and an attention grabber. She appeared on MSNBC and laughed along with the host, and relished in what she was going to do with the money.

As stipulated earlier, a majority of the American people believe these cases are all politically motivated, aimed at election interference. To add to what appears to be un-American activities, each of the prosecutors involved, Smith, James, and Braggs, have been to the Biden White House; one can only speculate for what reason.

Based on what we now know, I believe we have here a political party in a state of extreme desperation. Democrats are in a panic mode, fearful that they are on the verge of losing the 2024 presidential election. They will do or say anything, going so far as to activate the Biden Justice Department to pursue a former president by twisting and corrupting the law with exaggerated and in some cases unconstitutional accusations of criminal activities.

Former President Trump’s lead in the polls poses a direct threat to their radical leftist ideology. The Democratic Party and their media enablers are not above destroying Mr. Trump and his family, and deceiving the American people to achieve their nefarious and diabolical agenda. Their most fervent hope is that the former president’s future is behind bars.
