The Newest Obstacle to Peace
(and other items of current interest)

  1. Eli Yatzpen is today probably Israel’s leading stand-up comedian. An Israeli Eddie Murphy. The guy is DAMN funny. A bit on the slapstick side, often crude.

He has his own evening chat show, and it is a refreshing relief from the Leftist TV "Journalists" and from the likes of Junior Lapid, the human mannequin.

Yatzpen also likes to make fun of politicians, including Arab politicians. He annihilates Arafat. Lately he has been picking on Mubarak of Egypt.

The Egyptians are NOT amused. Egypt has formally submitted a protest to Israel about how Yatzpen is making fun of Mubarak and so endangering Egypt-Israel relations (Haaretz June 12, 01).

And you know what is REALLY remarkable about all this? The Egyptians did not even offer in exchange for canceling Yatzpen’s show to rein in the Nazi Der Sturmer state-controlled Egyptian press in which Jews have long noses, fangs and warts and chew on Arab babies.

  2. The Israeli chattering classes of the Left have long been afflicted by a vulgar anti-Americanism. Nary a day goes by without them denouncing heartless American capitalism and US indifference to the oppressed and poor.

The US is a den of inequality in which unfeeling capitalists prey on workers without health insurance. Where minorities are persecuted and hunted. Where homelessness is proof of the failure of the US globalization cabal. Where the rioting Nike-wearing anti-capitalism protester preppies (or "our guys" if you read Haaretz) are the hero gladiators against Amerika.

And so on. This from the same people who do not know how many states are in the US.

Well, you can just imagine the field day the self-righteous Left in Israel is having about the McVeigh execution. Bush the Hangman, they scream. Far-Leftist commentator Moshe Negbi, the darling of Channel One and CNN, was on TV last night denouncing the ghoulish cult of death in America illustrated in the McVeigh execution. Moreover, he explained to all that just watching the hullabaloo around McVeigh’s execution should be more than enough to prove to all how awful it would be if Israel also had a death penalty for mass murderers.

He is convinced that the death penalty should be restricted to Jews who live in houses outside Israel’s Green Line.
