The Most Important Takeaways form the State of the Union
Dr. Tom Barrett
It’s shocking that the President of the United States would feel the need to calm the fears of its citizens with those powerful words. But on the other hand, it was not surprising, since so many Democrat leaders have declared their allegiance to the godless political/economic system. Dozens more have shown sympathy and given support to Socialism, without openly declaring themselves to be Socialists. Read more...
Bartender Takes Power Away from Pelosi
Dr. Tom Barrett
Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become so well known after just a month in Congress that she is known by her initials: AOC. Usually, presidents like FDR and LBJ (also Socialists, though they didn’t admit to it) get such treatment.

I don’t think Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, and (until AOC took the spotlight) the head of the Democrat Party cares too much for AOC. This is because Democrats are treating the inexperienced Bartender from the Bronx as if she was the new head of the party. Within hours of Cortez announcing her “Green New Deal,” all the announced Democrat presidential candidates were falling all over themselves trying to be the first to endorse it – although no one (including Cortez) seems to know just what it is or how it will be paid for.  Read more...

Why should anyone have to defend singing the National Anthem? Why should anyone have to defend being a patriot, for that matter? Unfortunately, that's the position the famous Gladys Knight found herself in because she agreed to sing the Anthem at the Super Bowl.

Thousands of haters denounced her, cursed her and threatened her - first because she agreed to sing the Anthem, and then because she refused to kneel while singing it. Somehow these leftist losers have determined that respect for our nation, our flag, and our Anthem equates to disrespect for the black community. Their only rationale for this is that a player who was already on his way out of the sport decided to kneel during the Anthem to draw attention to himself. (I won't mention his name because he has already received far too much undeserved attention.)

Believing oneself to be something other than what one’s own body clearly reveals him to be is indeed correctly diagnosed as a mental disorder. Whether it’s a matter of a male believing he is female, or a human believing they are a horse, it’s an equally psychotic break with physical reality.  Read more...

Between Gladys Knight's awesome passionate rendition of our national anthem and Tom Brady winning his sixth ring, I thoroughly enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday.

My wife Mary enjoyed watching the puppy and kitten bowls. Mary said not one puppy took a knee during the playing of our National Anthem.  Read more...

All freedom-loving people support the overthrow of the tyrannical socialist Nicolás Maduro regime in Venezuela. But President Trump’s replacement, Venezuelan National Assembly President Juan Guaido, is also a socialist. His Popular Will party is a “progressive” party and a member of the Socialist International.

It was President Trump who told the United Nations, “All nations of the world should resist socialism and the misery that it brings to everyone.” Yet, Trump has been convinced by his advisers to intervene on behalf of Guaido, a socialist “alternative” to Maduro who has pledged amnesty for virtually all officials of the Maduro regime, including its most corrupt bureaucrats and military officials.  Read more...

Climate change is a catch-all phrase for environmentalism. Its proponents, increasingly with religious fervor, blame mankind’s activities for an increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere.

Climate change is used as a scare tactic to promote all kinds of progressive social and environmental issues. Politicians use climate change as an excuse to raise taxes (carbon taxes) and gain the support of naïve voters. Environmental warriors use climate change in an attempt to change energy policies and save the planet, while the media blames climate change for any and all weather-related activities.  Read more...

The ancient Hebrew prophet Micah seemed to have Washington, D.C. in mind when he wrote,

“The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.”

To the careful observer, it seems that passage might apply to Washington since it appears the only upright thing in Washington is the Washington Monument.  Read more...

Socialist theory is antithetical to the principles on which America was founded.  Under the original American view of government, private property rights are championed and protected.  But in the socialist view, private property ownership is denounced and demonized.

Socialism is un-American, and socialism has always destroyed any society where it has taken root. Look at Venezuela.

While Harris, Sanders, Waters, Cortez and their ilk continue to push for Americans to embrace “new rights” like a socialist European healthcare system, they are not the originators of this concept in America.  Read more...

What do you think will be the outcome of the three weeks of discussion on Homeland Security budget funding including the wall? If you say nothing, you would be right. Pelosi will not risk her position and an uprising and rebellion among Democrats by making any concessions on building the wall.

The president said to Congress: don’t waste your time, the deal needs a wall. If the compromise has no funding for the wall, then what action will the president take? I believe he will declare a National Emergency and use money from existing funds to start building the wall. Read more...

Legal immigrants have benefited America since its founding. Our Founders' genius was to create a system of government rewarding immigrants with freedom and prosperity if they put forth the effort and played by the rules. Today, unfortunately, we are at a tipping point. Our current laws (as well as disregard for the existing laws) have allowed too many to come here.

Democrats preferring open borders want all to come. To them, illegal immigration is about one thing: more votes for their candidates. Despite the carnage of cartels or women being sexually assaulted, they do not seem to care. They only care about power. It seems they apparently would object only if it was their child who was raped or it was their wife who died of an overdose of a cartel-supplied drug.  Read more...
America is a divided nation, but there are those who seek to bridge the divide.
Bob Pascarella
Since there seems to be a more pronounced aggression and division in the nation’s discussion of the immigration issue as of late, and the resulting partial government shutdown, you might have heard some in the political class, mainly Democrats, express themselves with this statement, “We don’t build walls; we build bridges.” I believe this to be a valid and noble sentiment, under the right circumstances. However, in this specific case, it is nothing more than a platitude, and an excuse to discount the need for a physical barrier on the southern border; it is all political.

With this latest immigration debacle that has enhanced the divide in this nation to even greater heights, there are some who seek to bring about change, that if successful could perhaps avoid political, social, and cultural breakdowns, and the constant havoc we face on any number of issues.  Read more...

With the election of President Trump, Christian prayer has made a striking comeback in the political arena. Everywhere I turn, I hear people asking fellow Americans to pray for our president. During a conference call, VP Mike Pence asked religious leaders to pray for President Trump. President Trump humbly asked for our prayers. “Trump Prayer Warriors” is one of several Facebook groups advocating praying for our president. Christian leaders contributed prayers to a book titled, “Prayers for the President.” Why are so many Americans feeling an urgent need to pray for our president and country?  Read more...

Have you ever wondered why racists are who they are? Why are blacks so hated by them? It makes no sense. Is it just their skin color? Are they perceived as some sort of threat to the white race?

Yet there is another race of people, with a parallel history of slavery to freedom, who are more reviled than the black race. Of course, I’m referring to the Jews and the nation of Israel. Like racists, anti-Semites and haters of Israel appear to have to make up reasons just to continue to hate the tiny nation.  Read more...

According to CNN News, House Democratic women decided to accept the invitation to wear women’s “suffragette white” during President Trump’s State of the Union Address.

Rep Lois Frankel of Florida declared "Wearing suffragette white is a respectful message of solidarity with women across the country, and a declaration that we will not go back on our hard-earned rights."  Read more...
For some the law doesn't apply.
Bob McCray
In the alternative universe that orbits around the Clintons and the establishment career political cronies of Washington, D.C., the rule of equal judicial law does not apply. Allegations of pay to play have dogged the Clintons for years, reaching its zenith during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State, along with numerous reports of other countries making sizable donations into the Clinton Foundation in order to receive preferential treatment with the Obama Administration.  Read more...

One might assume that the Democrat elites…those political, Hollywood, media, athletes, Wall Street, Trust Fund babies, and all of the other overprivileged and underwhelming denizens of the pampered ‘Limousine Liberal’ class of bloviating virtue signalers - the ones who make up the driving force within the Democrat Party - must be crazy.

I mean really, why would they advocate Marxist tax policies that would leave them sharing the same financial fate as the rest of their other fellow human beings, instead of the platinum-plated lifestyles they are used to?

Well, they are of course (crazy that is), but not for frothing on about increasing taxes. They do it for the same reason that they do everything - another phony, empty gesture that sounds good but in reality will not cost them a thing. Read more...

In 1940 Perry Hayden, a wheat miller from Tecumseh, MI, heard a sermon on tithing, or what I call the Power of Ten. He decided, according to Malachi 3:10, to put God to the test. He would plant a tiny wheat crop and give ten percent of the harvest to the local Quaker church. On a small plot four feet by eight feet, Perry planted a crop that he and his pastor Rev. Escolme, named “Dynamic Kernels.”  Read more...

The state of Virginia is in trouble. Recently it was discovered that Governor Ralph Northam’s 1984 yearbook reveals him in blackface or as a Klan member. The yearbook photo was of a man in blackface and another man in a Klan costume. Northam was not sure which one he was; then he denied that he was even in the photo, but he did confess that he had imitated Michael Jackson in blackface.
