Christianity Under Assault by Christians

As the face and demographic makeup of America continues to go through a transformation, and peoples throughout the world seek refuge and better lives in America, cultural and political forces have also gone through a change, radical and irrational. Multiculturalism, unrestrained diversity, has imposed on the nation restrictions and in many cases unfair practices.

These changes did not come about overnight and without consequences. Aside from what we can determine are the usual disagreements and biases among people of different ethnicities, traditions, and religions, the current majority Caucasian race, which is slowly diminishing in number, has become the victim of criticism, intolerance, and bigotry, and accused of courting “White Supremacy” and racism.

These scurrilous charges are being instigated by the progressive left-wing in politics, on college and university campuses, among activist groups, the media, the entertainment industry, and by powerful and wealthy forces that seek to undermine and destroy the unassailability of Western Civilization, its heritage, contributions, and the Judeo-Christian ethic, all of which laid the foundations of this nation.

Now, something new has been added to this unfounded assault, “Christian Nationalism.” This is absurd on its face and is the harebrained idea of alienated Christians who have become organized. In a statement issued in July of 2019 titled “Christians Against Christian Nationalism" (CACN), the group sets forth their goals and convictions.

In their statement, they explain what Christian Nationalism is - “Christian Nationalism demands Christianity be privileged by the state, and implies that to be a good American, one must be Christian. It often overlaps and provides cover for white supremacy and racial subjugation.” According to CACN, Christians seek a special status in society that must be recognized by the government, and ratified by the state. This group has not given any examples of Christian Nationalism that has imposed any mandate, other than people speaking out against intolerance of their Christian faith.

In his book, “Secular Sabotage: How Liberals Are Destroying Religion and Culture in America,” Bill Donohue wrote:

CACN then goes a step further to assert that Christian Nationalism can be associated with White Nationalism. Their motives would appear to be that religion and race, in this case the white race, have melded together and created what I believe would be more aptly called White Christian Nationalism. I would conclude then that any other race that happens to be Christian is excluded. CACN is in effect inferring that white Christians believe the Founders created America for white Christians alone.

Unquestionably, this group intends to further divide the nation along racial and religious lines. It is apparent they are another leftist fringe faction that seeks to create hostility and intolerance and instill prejudice in the minds of people, other than White Christian Conservatives who now bear the brunt of much of the left’s contempt and condemnation.

In 1892, the Supreme Court said: “This is a Christian nation.” What the Court was saying is that the heritage of America was rooted in Christianity, and not that other religions were not welcome.

There can be little doubt about what is taking place here. Forces composed of leftwing advocacy groups, of all stripes, and now including Christians Against Christian Nationalism, through deceit, propaganda, and revisionist history of the Western culture, seek to undermine and disenfranchise the white race and Christianity. They envision a nation with white people in the minority, and Christianity deprived of its religious freedom and relegated to houses of worship, and out of the Public Square.
