McCain: "Indeed, a War Hero"

July 27, 2015

John McCain served his country honorably as a Navy pilot in Vietnam. Equally importantly, after being shot down and captured by the North Vietnamese, he refused an option offered to him as the son of an admiral – early release from the prisoner of war camp where he was beaten and tortured.

It takes genuine courage to refuse rescue from almost unbearable conditions. John McCain was going home with his fellow soldiers, and not before. John McCain is a war hero. His bravery transcends politics and we should all be proud of him.
