People, President, Prophet, and Pope Vs. Anarchy, Unrest and Tons of Dope

October 31, 2011

One of America’s most well known news commentators gave a summary of how America got into its present troubles only last night. There is no need to name or quote the man because almost all commentators and pundits are mouthing the same spiel.

He said the people began to adopt a “do your own thing philosophy” in the sixties, what followed was a dip in morals and there was a rise in dependence on government for money, medical care and everything else, that in short time created the present ‘nanny state.’

It all sounded good until he offered what has become the standard answer to resolve the problem of our dying society. As you might expect, it was a return to self reliance, invigorating businesses to grow, and cut the spending. With lots of nodding, assent and general agreement those on his panel were in full and unfettered agreement with him.

Then it was time to move on. The big question was put to the person being interviewed, (Presidential candidate) how did he plan to bring all this about. His answers were remarkably good, but it was impossible to miss the fact that he only addressed the economy. No mention of the “do your own thing mentality,” Or how to curb the deepening moral morass that now makes a total caricature of our young, old and everyone in between.

I don’t need to quote some high sounding scriptural passage to de-bunk this standard rhetorical offering. It has become so accepted that today’s presidential hopefuls stand no chance of victory without assimilating this viewpoint and offering some version of their own way to deal with it. No Bible here, all that’s needed is a common saying heard often among the teenagers of this nation; ‘you wish.’

People are confused! Ron Paul says ignore the Iranian nuclear threat, Cain has a three digit number to solve all our problems and Mitt Romney has some good ideas but we can’t be sure he won’t abandon them by the end of the month for a whole new position or perspective.

In the mean time the real battle goes on full strength against America’s deadliest enemy, the statue of Jesus near a ski resort in Montana. Here we have the multi-million dollar budgeted ACLU with its army of top legal minds defending America from a cement statue that could, if not removed, bring America to its own destruction. Even non-religious people and a good number of atheists who haven’t been gripped by fear of the statue are scratching their heads in disbelief; the Freedom from Religion movement notwithstanding. If there is a freedom from stupidity movement in the nation, some of these folks may want to consider switching their affiliation.

President Obama on the very same night the commentator was repeating the mantra for recovery and American restoration to greatness, was found enjoying the accolades from the audiences of late night host Jay Leno. He drew laughter and admiration when he announced that his plan for re-election was just to wait ‘Till ‘everybody’s voted off the island.’ Using yet another incredibly shallow pop culture phrase that today’s reality show sycophants’ could not miss; it is all just so much more of the same. His last pop culture slogans, phrases and catch words got him the majority of the vote in 2008. Is that all it will take in 2012?

Education, intelligence, experience and guesswork all fail to explain why those who still see Obama as good president cannot seem to see his disastrous handling of everything from the economy to our state of morality. In the search to discover the blinders that seem to shroud the thinking of the Obama followers, only one answer has any hope of answering the dilemma. It is not mean spirited, but rather it is a reality totally hidden from the ‘reality TV’ generation. To wit:

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Cor 4: 4) It would be reasonable to say that few Obama sycophants would bother involve themselves in seeking the image of an invisible God and his only begotten Son, because they are already enamored with the image of Barack Obama and cannot be easily diverted, if at all.

The truth is at this point that, that’s all he’s got. It is painful just to bring up the president’s record once again. It is easier to summarize his accomplishments in what is an undeniable but perfectly honest assessment of his policies and his presidency. It is a failure.

America is on the edge of economic collapse and the Constitution and the better sensibilities of the people have been ripped to shreds so often that talk of impeachment doesn’t make me cringe like it did only a few short years ago.

We have a president who has been inculcated by his involvement with leftist socialism, inspired by the mindless adoration culled from is idolizers and insulated from the reality of all America is or ever was by the contrived reality of both the beltway and the Oval Office. If the ‘One’ can’t see this; how can his proselytes be held accountable?

Then along came the prophets with their message of warning that our immorality and perversion, our abortions and our indifference are bringing about our economic downturn as sure as the sun rises in the east. They are reminding people, in concert, that the fulfillment of Bible prophecy is unmistakably at hand. Israel’s rebirth, the rise of a united Europe, the immorality and the quest for knowledge being but a few of the clear warnings that time is about to run out.

Someone recently commented on one of my articles by saying, all of my serious warnings could not possibly happen, (A by-product of Dominionism) until Christ had finished his work of primping, priming and preparing his church as in, “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Eph 5: 27)

Behind that pronouncement came the national broadcast of a well known speaker and teacher explaining how, over involvement with second coming doctrines, is not at all necessary because of this single verse of scripture; “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Mt. 25: 13)

Who would have guessed that at the time Christ’s return was imminent God would set up a clearing house by which, certain scriptures could be engaged to neutralize others. One quarter of the Bible has to do with the second coming of Christ.

How do one or two verses of the Bible that are either overemphasized or used to indoctrinate the unsuspecting, fare in the light of this word from the Apostle Paul? “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Tim 3: 16) Does God use one scripture to cancel, deemphasize or overrule others? God never contradicts himself, but we not only think he does, but we presume that we are wise enough to uncover the disparities and help God along.

I reminded my commenter that the church is without doubt in the worst apostasy (falling away) in its entire history. That doesn’t mean that God is not working with those who remain faithful, to bring about a stage where they are indeed without spot or wrinkle, but the notion that the second coming is on hold until this is accomplished is, as silly as it gets.

Where the church is not falling it is infighting. A recent major ministry released an article that strictly denies and nearly condemns anyone who has had a ‘taken to heaven’ experience. We can only guess what they would do to John the Revelator if he were alive and spreading the account of his vision (The Book of Revelation) today. Will they stand wagging the finger of rebuke at everyone from fiery preacher Jesse Duplantis to the young preschooler from Nebraska, Colton Burpo, who saw sights in heaven that took years for him to convey to his parents.

Whatever happened to the humility and the better reasoning seen in the most contrary religious leaders alive at the time of the early church as it was forming in and around Jerusalem? Although the scribes and Pharisees were deeply divided about the Apostle Paul’s preaching of the gospel in Jerusalem they had the presence of mind to say, “We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.” (Acts 23: 9) Has the church decided in spite of Joel 2: 28f and other passages that God is quite done doing spiritual extras like giving dreams, visions and theophany? Should they get this message off to God before he messes things up beyond repair? Should we inform him that if he doesn’t get his Kingdom view lined up, we will have to exclude him from our churches? Don’t look now; but some churches have already given him his walking papers.

Next comes the Pope, with a huge surprise for both Catholics and others with an announcement that for those grounded in second coming doctrine, is like a sudden fast track forward in the very fulfillment of prophecy. The Pope has declared that the world is ready for a state-run monetary authority.

Now Janet Napolitano’s dissing of all who espouse a coming one world government and monetary authority will have to include the Pope. We who have predicted this for decades are now tacitly vindicated but in an almost perverse fashion. It may be the worst idea a modern Pope has ever had but it serves to make the point.

While the world teeters on the brink of worldwide anarchy under the riots, revolutions and demonstrations, here at home, the Occupy Wall Street movement is proof that you don’t actually have to have a legitimate reason to be discontent.

Untold gallons of alcohol, and drugs measured in metric tons, are pouring in for the appetites of the west at such an alarming volume that it is clear that society has changed the definition of the economically challenged nations of the world. Now it is safe to say that instead of economically advanced nations, developing nations and third world countries there are really only two basic divisions as we enter the twenty first century. There is the west that uses the drugs and the rest of the world that supplies the drugs.

Of course if we just fix our economy, produce more job opportunities and devise some kind of flat tax, the aforementioned will just fly away. And we think our prophets are flakes?
